Project Document for “Environmental Remediation of Dioxin Contaminated Hotspots in Viet Nam” was signed on 28 June 2010 by and between Minister of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Global Environment Facilities (GEF) is funding agency of this project. The project will be implemented in 4 years, from 2010 to 2013.
The Objective of the project is “to minimise disruption of ecosystems and health risks for people from environmental releases of TCDD contaminated hotspots”. This will contribute to the broader Goal, which is “to overcome the consequences of toxic chemicals used in the war in Viet Nam”.

The Project: “Strengthen Capacity for implementing and monitoring Policies on ethnic minorities ” (EMPCD) funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for 2008-2012 is to improve capacity for CEMA and Department of Ethnic Minority Affairs (DEMA) of Lai Chau, Quang Nam and Binh Phuoc in formulating, implementing and monitoring policies on ethnic minorities.
