Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations is one of the sub-recipients of “The Global Fund supported project on HIV/AIDS”, funded by The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The target of the VUSTA’s project is to reduce the HIV/AIDS related mortality and improve the quality of life of people living with and vulnerable to HIV/AIDS in 10 provinces covered by the project via strengthening capacity and promoting the participation of civil society organizations and community in the national response to HIV/AIDS in Vietnam. The 2nd phase of the project is expected to run for three years, from 2013 to 2015 with a potential to be expanded.

Project Officer

Peace House Shelter Project, run by Center for Women and Development – a subordinate unit of Vietnam Women’s Union, was established as a joint effort by Vietnam Women’s Union and Spanish Agency for International Development Co-operation (AECID) to combat trafficking in persons by providing assistance to trafficking victims. Need-based support services including safe accommodation, health care, counseling, vocational training, legal aids and job placement are provided for women and children who are victims of trafficking in persons.
