Project Officer

Peace House Shelter Project, run by Center for Women and Development – a subordinate unit of Vietnam Women’s Union, was established as a joint effort by Vietnam Women’s Union and Spanish Agency for International Development Co-operation (AECID) to combat trafficking in persons by providing assistance to trafficking victims. Need-based support services including safe accommodation, health care, counseling, vocational training, legal aids and job placement are provided for women and children who are victims of trafficking in persons. As a pilot model established in 2007, the Project has so far supported more than 150 trafficking victims from different provinces and backgrounds across the country.

Position title:  Project Officer to Peace House Shelter Project supporting victims of trafficking in persons 
Contract period: 10 - 9 months
Expected starting date: As soon as possible
Areas of responsibilities: The Project Officer to the Peace House Shelter Project, supporting victims of trafficking in persons, is assigned on a full time bases. In this capacity his/her specific duties and responsibilities include:

Duties & responsibilities:
- Assisting the project management board in preparing plans and logistics, organizing workshops, trainings, trips, etc;
- Carrying out core administrative duties such as drafting correspondence, taking notes at meeting as a basis for minutes, filing of documents, general mailing and correspondence; maintaining project documents and other files (both paper and electronic) up to date
- Liaising with partners, local authorities, ministries and related agencies tracking assigned tasks/project steps/timetables, coordinating with relevant consultants and PMU member, and providing assistance and/or information on project related matters,
- Arranging appointments and meetings;
- Interpreting bilingual communication at meetings, workshops, training courses, field trips and others as assigned by Project’s management board;
- Translating documents and reports assigned by Project Management board;
- Logistics
- Ensuring the office filling system and records are properly maintained and up dated in accordance with the existing framework for easy retrieval
- Carrying out M&E tasks in accordance with the M&E tools of the project
- Other tasks as required by the Project Management Board

Qualifications & Competencies:
- University degree (good ranking or above) in English;
- At least 2 years working experience in similar positions, experience with development projects, working and/or studying in English speaking country are preferable;
- Knowledge and experience in the field of trafficking in person, gender and development is an advantage
- Good team work and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of office management operational practices and procedures
- Advanced computer skills, proficiency in accounting soft ware packages and use of e-mail and Internet
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team, and willingness to travel to communes as needed
- Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently, handle a variety of concurrent activities, rank priorities, organize work efficiently, and deliver assignments in a timely manner often under time constraints;
- Fluency in spoken and written Vietnamese and English is essential (English will be tested).
- Ethical, responsible and enthusiastic
- Thorough understanding of relationships with relating agencies (such as MOLISA, Police, WU, etc.)
- The initial appointment period will be for 9-10 months (3 months probation) with the possibility of renewal subject to performance assessments, funding and project’s final duration.
