Organisation: Woolcock Institute of Medical Research
The Woolcock Institute is lung health research organisation, based at Sydney University, Australia (http://www.woolcock.org.au/). The Institute has operated in Vietnam since 2009, we undertake large and important operational and epidemiological and clinical research projects in collaboration with the National Tuberculosis Program in 11 Provinces, including Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City. The Woolcock also runs training in epidemiological and operational research methods for Vietnamese doctors and public health workers.

The SME Development Project in Tra Vinh Province funded by Canada (Global Affairs of Canada) has been carried out from 2014 to 2020. The project is being considered an extension until 2022. One of the medium term outcomes of the project is to increase quantity and improve competitiveness of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Tra Vinh Province.

The Center of Help for Indigenous value promotion And Sustainable Environment (CHIASE) is a Vietnamese non-government organization. Programs of the Center focus on sustainable improvements in livelihood security and voice of disadvantaged and natural resource-dependent people, especially ethnic minority, who lack access to resources and influence over decisions that affect their lives.

Wolbachia Method Project in Southern Vietnam (WMP-SVN)

The World Mosquito Program (WMP) is a global not-for-profit initiative that works to protect the global community from mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, Zika, chikungunya, and yellow fever. Known until recently as the Eliminate Dengue Program, the WMP uses naturally occurring bacteria called Wolbachia to reduce the ability of mosquitoes to transmit these viruses. Accumulating evidence is supportive of very large impact on disease transmission and large clinical trials and demonstration projects are currently underway.
Tetra Tech, through its subsidiary Tetra Tech ARD (http://www.tetratechintdev.com/), a US-based international development firm is implementing the USAID Saving Species Project. The implementation team lead by Tetra Tech’s Chief of Party provides an effective combination of experience combating wildlife trade across Africa to Asia and the proven ability to reduce demand for consumption, improve enforcement of trafficking, and strengthen policy formulation for illegal wildlife in Vietnam. We work collaboratively with the Government of Vietnam (GVN) and Vietnamese civil society, the foundations for sustainability and the predicates for success in Vietnam.
