Vacanies at Chemonics

Chemonics International, a leading international consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., seeks qualified Vietnamese national and expatriate candidates for an anticipated economic policy reform project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Vietnam. We seek opportunities to support the Government of Vietnam’s efforts to continue implementation of high-level trade and investment reforms, including changes in economic governance and macroeconomic areas.

Positions

1.Legal and Regulatory Reform experts

- Specifically pertaining to trade and legal reform resulting in private sector growth (with a strong understanding of Government of Vietnam’s regulatory regime and legislative process preferred)
- Experience in understanding and improving the impact on such policy reform on women and marginalized communities

2.Trade and Investment experts

- Implementation and compliance for trade agreements and WTO compliance
- Issues related to global economic integration (i.e. market access, investment regimes and safeguards, intellectual property rights, transparency measures)

3.Private Sector experts

- Experience working with private sector to identify trade and legal bottlenecks to encourage private sector investment and growth
- Experience in working with the private sector to understand and adopt legal and regulatory reform

4.Institutional Development & Capacity Building Specialists

-Institutional development at government level
- Capacity building of ministry and judiciary staff, enforcement and regulatory agencies

Qualifications

- Relevant university degree required; Masters or PhD a plus.
- Experience working with USG agencies, Vietnamese government officials, private sector stakeholders, multilateral institutions (WTO, ASEAN, APEC), and/or other donors.
- Work experience in Vietnam or Asia highly preferred.
- Prior USAID experience preferred; must have experience with donor and/or development-related organizations.
- Fluency in English both written and oral.
