Christina Noble Children’s Foundation (‘CNCF’) is one of the longest serving NGO’s in Vietnam and Mongolia. In November 2019, we celebrate our long presence of 30 year of giving children back their childhood in recognition of Christina Noble and her Foundation in Vietnam. Since inception CNCF has established 164 projects across Vietnam and Mongolia and has provided immediate and long-term life-saving and life-enhancing humanitarian assistance to around 900,000 children living in poverty, and impacted the lives of over 1,000,000 people through our community development programmes.

SOCIAL WORKER

The Christina Noble Children’s Foundation (CNCF) seeks to recruit the Social Worker full time position (Monday – Friday) to be based in Ho Chi Minh City with an immediate start date.

  • The Social Worker is responsible for designing, developing activities of social works as required by CNCF.
  • To support social work related activities incurred in CNCF projects and programmes.
  • To be responsible for running and developing the program efficiently and smoothly.

Responsibilities:

A. Social Work:

  • To be responsible for regular update, the internal Social Work Handbook for CNCF.
  • To provide orientation and induction training for new staff based on the CNCF Social Work Handbook.
  • To develop social work training plan and organize social work training for CNCF staff, and partners when needed, in coordination with other CNCF departments
  • To provide case work support & follow up activities for children who graduate CNCF projects in coordination with other CNCF departments.
  • To design activities for social work function in CNCF including but not limited to leaflets, brochure on vocational training, family counselling, consultation given to other departments; to keep up to date this information
  • To cooperate with and provide support to social workers of other program operated by CNCF when needed in consulting, assessing individual case and giving solution accordingly
  • To organize seminar of consultation on specific case when required
  • To cooperate with other project officers in ensuring children of each project have an identity card, when they are old enough.
  • To make oneself available to other CNCF projects at the request of the Board of Management to provide assistance.
  • To compile and continuously update a list of services and facilities, outside of those provided by the CNCF, that may meet the social needs of children in the projects i.e. shelters, schools, vocational training facilities etc. Once compiled these should be assessed in partnership with other CNCF staff for their suitability.
  • To develop lasting cooperation’s with such service providers, to ensure CNCF are able to seek the best possible assistance for these children.
  • To make oneself available at the request of the Board of Management to conduct research into the issues of disadvantaged children, including but not limited to issues of street children, child trafficking, sexual abuse, drug trafficking, drug abuse and so on.
  • To undertake any other office duties necessary to run the project efficiently.
  • To prepare a monthly report to be submitted to Director/Vice Director.

B. Family Assistance Program:

  • To be in charge of Family Assistance or Special Assistance provided by CNCF in the event of a child or family who is/are in need of assistance that are not suitable to any existing CNCF projects/programs, including:
  • To oversee and/or be responsible for the interview, screen and acquire information from children and/or their families applying for support.
  • To prepare written funding applications, on behalf of children requiring family assistance.
  • To ensure that the funds provided in the Family Assistance Program are going to needy child and his/her family as program’s philosophy.
  • To ensure that all the papers regarding to child in the program are updated
  • To arrange the time so that each child receives support in Family Assistance Program is visited at their home at least once per year.
  • To compile a report with profiles of each of the children who receive Family Assistance, which can be provided to sponsors of this support.
  • To prepare success stories in the program monthly or at required regular time.
  • To prepare semi-annual/annual report for CNCF about the program during the year.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 3 years of relevant experience in social work at local or international organization with a passion and patience for working with disadvantaged children and their families.

You must have:

  • Proficient command of written and spoken English and Vietnamese.
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Team work and willingness to travel.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
