Short-term Business Development Consultant

Please be informed that WWF’s Sustainable Rattan, Bamboo and Acacia Project is seeking for Short-term Business Development Consultant based in WWF Hue Office and business missions to Quang Tri, Quang Nam and other provinces in Vietnam if required, with 3-month-consultancy from 16 March 2018 to 15 June 2018.
The Short-term Business Development Consultant will support project team to improve the responsible management system and secure FSC® certified forest areas of plantation acacia, bamboo & rattan by strengthening the organizational structure of forest smallholder/smallholder group of acacia and rattan/bamboo including CBOs then linking to existing green SMEs/processors and ‘green’ suppliers/manufacturers to meet the green market requirements (e.g. relevant legality & standard system) and ensure the credible and stable FSC® certified product supply chain.
Required Qualifications:
- Good knowledge on business, entrepreneurship development.
- Good knowledge on relevant issues of timber and non-timber forest products, especially acacia, rattan and bamboo.
- Good knowledge on value chain/supply chain and sustainable development, particularly on acacia, rattan and bamboo sector is an advantage.
- Knowledgeable on smallholder organizational sustainable development is an advantage
- Knowledgeable on legal verification and forest certification is an advantage
- At least 5 years working experience on business development.
- Experience as the consultant in development projects especially on business sector development.
- Experience on working with SMEs in Greater Mekong region is an advantage.
- Experience on working with governmental officials, local communities/smallholders and/or companies at all levels in forestry and forest product sector.
