Senior Program Manager

Overall Responsibilities:
The Harvard Medical School AIDS Initiative in Vietnam (HAIVN) seeks a Senior Program Manager to work in their Ho Chi Minh City office to provide guidance and coordination for activities associated with the implementation of HAIVN projects in the southern provinces of Vietnam. The Senior Program Manager will work closely with HAIVN partners on administration, implementation, and reporting. He/she will serve as the manager of the Ho Chi Minh City office and work under the direct supervision of Country Medical Director, who is based in Hanoi.

The Harvard Medical School AIDS Initiative is mandated under the President's Emergency Plan Fund for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to provide training and technical assistance in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and antiretroviral therapy as well as other related health activities for health care professionals and assist with the implementation of quality improvement activities in the outpatient clinics.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Serve as lead of the Ho Chi Minh City office, responsible for management, administration and strategic planning (with the Medical Director)
- Assist Medical Director, as well as HAIVN partners in Vietnam, to develop and implement program strategies, workplans, and training activities
- Provide technical guidance to HAIVN partners and institutions involved in supported programs to assist their planning and implementation of activities
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to HAIVN staff in planning and implementing program activities in the southern provinces of Vietnam
- Represent HAIVN at conferences and meetings with Vietnamese government offices/agencies to ensure cooperation, collaboration, and coordination of HAIVN activities.
- Serve as liaison between HCMC- and Hanoi-based HAIVN staff

Reporting: Country Medical Director

Qualifications
- Degree in Medicine and/or Masters in Public Health
- Experience in HIV/AIDS-related issues required
- At least 5 years experience in management preferred
- Ability to develop and maintain close relationships with relevant stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to understand sensitive policy issues and coordinate programs accordingly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Vietnamese and English
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
- Strong multitasking and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally and linguistically diverse patients, staff, and consultants
