The Mission Office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Ha Noi is seeking applications for a consultancy contract from a researcher or research team to conduct a community mobility study in a border province along the Viet Nam – Cambodia border. Requirements for the researcher/research team are as follows:
Essential
- Possess Master’s degree in social sciences, international development, international relations, policy management, development economics, etc.
- At least 7-10 years of professional experience in the area of international migration and migration policies, migration and development;
- Considerable expertise in research and publications, excellent skills in data collection, analysis and writing report;
- Substantial experience in leading field surveys, especially in conducting informant/household interviews, focus group discussion, stakeholder meetings
Desirable
- Understanding migration situation, especially international migration of Viet Nam and immigration and border management;
- Experience in working with the Vietnamese government system, at both central and provincial levels;
- Facilitation and presentation skills in a cross-cultural setting;
- Understanding on gender issues in migration and gender analysis.
