Research Analyst Position

MDRI is a research institute under the umbrella of VUSTA. The institute is founded by professional researchers and consultants who have earned doctoral degrees in various fields of economics and management from established institutes in the US, Germany, Japan, Netherlands and Australia. The founders of MDRI have led multiple large-scale poverty reduction and socio-economic development projects and research in Vietnam and abroad. MDRI senior researchers have been well-known for their research and consultancy in the areas of poverty reduction, conducting large-scale socio-economic surveys, economic welfare of marginalized groups, especially of the ethnic minorities and migrants. MDRI is currently seeking potential candidates for full-time Research Analyst Position. 

Key responsibilities

The Research Analyst is expected to:

  • Work with project teams and support Research Fellows in conducting research and consultancy projects
  • Design and implement survey and research study, execute fieldwork
  • Process and analyze quantitative data (using STATA software)
  • Design and undertake qualitative study
  • Write project reports and research proposals          
  • Travel for work (domestic and international)

 

Qualifications

The Research Analyst should have Master degree (and above) in social sciences, economics, statistics, econometrics or related fields or hold exceptional Bachelor degree with substantial research experience. Priority is given to the candidate graduated from well-known universities aboard. The ideal candidates will have:

  • Strong quantitative background and having completed significant coursework in economics, mathematics, and statistics would be an evaluable asset
  • Extensive qualitative background in social sciences, and social studies
  • Incisive analytical skill and problem-solving skill
  • Good command of English (with good writing skill)
  • Excellent team player and strong capacity to perform independent work
