Regional Programme Coordinator

Regional Office of Operation Smile in Asia Pacific is looking for qualified and self-motivated candidates for the position of Regional Postoperative, Research and Eletronic Medical Records (EMR) Coordinator to be based in Hanoi.  Incumbent will be offered a good package and the chance to be a part of a great team that brings a better life and hope to many disadvantaged children in not only Vietnam but other countries in Asia. 

Main tasks and duties:
- Working with Operation Smile Foundations in Asia on their follow-up programs in order to maintain reporting structure and ensure that EMRs are used for each mission.
- Coordinating post-operative programs to follow up with patients after surgeries in order to determine their resulst and progress.
- Managing statistics and compiling post-operative reports using database of images and EMRs for outcome evaluation and research purposes.
- Coordinating, training and managing EMR volunteers in Asia Region.
- Participating in some research projects as required.

Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in related field (medical background is helpful)
- International field experience is helpful
- Knowledge of culture differences
- Understanding of database
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Excellent oral and written English skills (other language proficiency is a plus)
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Proficient in using window applications, Adobe Photoshop/Camera and Filemaker skills are helpful
- Self-starter and capable to work with little direct supervisors
- Be able to travel quite frequently in the Region

About Operation Smile
Operation Smile, headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia, was founded in 1982 by Dr. William P. Magee Jr., a plastic surgeon, and his wife, Kathleen S. Magee, a nurse and clinical social worker.  Operation Smile currently supports international and local, in-country medical missions to 34 countries.  Since 1982 Operation Smile has been providing free treatment to more than 120,000 children and young adults in developing countries born with facial deformity.  The majority of these patients suffer from cleft lip and cleft palate deformities. 
The Regional Office of Operation Smile in Asia Pacific was established in Hanoi early 2007 for supporting Operation Smile’s foundations in Asia and coordinating international missions in the region.
