Project Officer

Church World Service Vietnam is a US non-governmental organization (NGO). We are seeking a dynamic individual to fill the position of Project Officer for a short term 7-month employment. The Project Officer will provide support to the Program Manager in their work within the education, health, IEC, and training sectors. This position requires frequent traveling to the project fields in Lai Chau and Thai Nguyen provinces.

Major duties and responsibilities include to:
- communicate with project partners and project assistants regarding project planning, implementation, monitoring, and other issues. Review and comment on project partners’ quarterly plans and reports
- organize and participate in project needs assessments, surveys and evaluations
- conduct regular field visits to monitor and evaluate project activities in accordance with work plan
- monitor project database and checklist for monitoring and statistics
- organize Project Management Unit’s, and Project Steering Committee’s meetings and participate in meetings. Take meeting minutes.
- prepare and document field visits for program team
- develop and carry out IEC activities with emphasis on Education and Emergency Response in cooperation with program team

Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree
- Experience in development project monitoring and evaluation is preferred
- Good working knowledge of English
- Ability to work in a team
- Good computer skills in Word, Excel, email, internet
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
- Organized and detail oriented
- Ability to travel at least 50% of time
- Experience in IEC and participatory training preferred but not essential

Employment conditions:
- 7-month fixed term contract.
- Monthly take-home salary range between: USD493-USD843 depending on work experience
- Other benefits in accordance with CWS Vietnam personnel policy and Vietnam Labor Law
