We are excited to be searching for a proactive and pragmatic Program Manager with an interest in Value chain sustainability to join our team, based in Vietnam to work in the Wages in Apparel and Responsible Purchasing (WARP) program, and we hope it is you!

Your role.

As a Program Manager, you will lead exciting work to improve the working conditions and livelihoods of workers in Vietnam by collaborating with brands, government institutions, worker representatives, manufacturers, and initiatives. The position provides the right candidate with the opportunity to work at the highest level, around IDH’s impact area of Better Jobs and Gender, and to contribute to the ongoing strategic development of IDH’s Manufacturing work.

As the Program Manager of WARP program in Vietnam, you will be part of the Textiles & Manufacturing Business Unit and report directly to the Senior Program Manager of Apparel based in the Netherlands.

The core focus of the role will be to co-design and manage the successful delivery of the WARP workstream in Vietnam.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-designing strategy, translating the strategic goals into operational plans, and taking full responsibility for program implementation, deliverables, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of outcomes on time, within budget, and within scope.
  • Engaging with various stakeholders in Vietnam to secure collaboration for the implementation of the program, including local governments, the private sector, and civil society organizations
  • Technical lead in proposal development, concept notes, investment committee notes, program summaries, and reporting.
  • Representing IDH and the Better Job and  Wage initiatives in Vietnam at national/regional events and with various stakeholders.
  • Contribute to IDH’s larger Better Job, Better Income and purchasing practices agenda

What you bring.

  • Degree, ideally up to master’s levels in business, or social science, such as development studies economics, or related fields.
  • At least 7-10 years of working experience in program management within human and labour rights. Knowledge of living wages and core labour standards is highly desirable.
  • People management experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience in engaging with major players in government, the private sector, and/or other types of senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working as part of a dynamic and international team
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English and Vietnamese.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially a very good working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required (estimated to be around 2-4 trips per year)
