Education for Nature-Vietnam (ENV) was established in 2000 as Vietnam’s first non-governmental organization focused on conservation of nature and the environment. Our mission is to foster greater understanding amongst the Vietnamese public about environmental issues of local, national and global significance, ranging from protection of wildlife and natural ecosystems to climate change. We employ creative and innovative strategies to influence attitudes and behavior, not only highlighting the need to protect Vietnam’s rich natural heritage and the living world around us, but also encouraging greater public participation in achieving this important and challenging task.

Positions available
ENV is looking for a Policy and Advocacy Program Officer who is a charismatic professional to work closely with not only the authorities and decision makers but also national and international experts to
strengthen our program. An ability to think logic and critic, creativeness in approach to decision makers, and excellent communication and presentation skills are a must. The Policy and Advocacy Program officer is also involved to develop the relationship with authorities at all levels and nurturing existing relationships.

Main duty station: Hanoi

Main responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationship with key policy makers, arrange the meeting with key decision makers
- Support the Wildlife Crime Unit on top priorities cases
- Follow the plan of build up and/or amend of legal documents which related to our targets
- Contribute the comments for legislation of legal documents as assigned from managers
- Drafting the correspondence and other documents
- Training for other staff to orientate and clarify the legal issues
- Manage the delivery the Wildlife Crime Bulletin to CG contacts
- Others

Requirements
- College degree: prefer but not restricted to environment, forestry, law
- Strong verbal and writing skills in both Vietnamese and English language is a must
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, confident and outgoing, ability to work closely with others.
- Experience working with authorities at all levels
- Understanding the basic mechanics of governments operation and processing of legislation, administration and judgment are advantage.
- Some knowledge of environment and conservation issues or an interest in learning about.
- Computer literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
- Experience or ability to lead and show initiative.
