VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

As a federal enterprise, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. We work in a variety of fields and support our cooperation partners in designing strategies and meeting their policy goals. GIZ Viet Nam is currently engaged in three priority areas: 1) Vocational training; 2) Environmental policy and sustainable natural resource use; 3) Energy. The joint technical cooperation programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam” (TVET Programme) is financed by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with counterpart funds from the Vietnamese Government. The implementing agencies are the GIZ and the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) under the Ministry of Labour, Invalides and Social Affairs (MoLISA). The TVET Programme consists of three components:

1. TVET Policy Advice and System Reform
2. Support for Centres of Excellence for TVET
3. TVET for Skilled Workers in the Wastewater Sector

The program is looking for a local qualified candidate to fill the following position:

National Intern
Duty station: Hanoi
Duration: 6 months starting from March 2019

Main tasks:

• Assistance in implementation of programme activities
  
  • assist with the preparation and organisation of events and other activities
  • participate in internal and external meetings/workshops and assists in documenting these
  • assist programme officers in translating documents and verifying translations (Vietnamese/English/German)
  • implement/conduct a small project independently

• Knowledge management
  
  • share previous and acquired knowledge and information with programme responsibilities

• Other duties/additional tasks:
  
  • perform other duties and tasks at the request of management.

Minimum requirements:

• Vietnamese nationality;
• Currently undertaking or has recently completed postgraduate/bachelor studies in TVET related fields. A Master’s Degree is an asset;
• Proficient English language
• no prior professional experience required
• good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
• a knowledge of statistical analysis programmes is desirable
• ability to work very precisely
• very good knowledge English, ideally a knowledge of German
• Proven translation and interpreting skills
• Good communication skills
