National Gender Consultant

Plan in Vietnam is going to conduct a Gender Equality Joint-Assessment from November - December 2010 with the purposes as follows:
1. Assess progress and performance on how and why gender equality issues are being addressed in Plan Vietnam programming, partnerships and its internal organizational structures and processes, together with Plan staff and partners.
2. Develop practical & concrete recommendations for integrating gender equality within programming, partnerships and organizational processes in Plan Vietnam and in particular in the new CSP.
3. Promote enthusiasm, commitment and capacity for working on gender equality and build a gender-sensitive workforce and organization in Plan Vietnam. 

This task will be led by an International Consultant and with close cooperation of a National Consultant and Plan staffs. They are looking for a National Gender Consultant to cooperate with the International Consultant and Plan during Gender Equality Joint-Assessment process:

Vacancy:
Job Title        : National Gender Consultant
Location        : Hanoi & travel as requires
Duration        : 29/11-    20/12/2010 (full time)

Main responsibilities:
- Assist the international consultant in all the tasks assigned.
- Facilitate the session in Vietnamese at the Country Office and the Programme Units.
- Participate in the preparation of the overall report and the workshop reports.
- Conduct and report on the interview with key informants.
- Review and contextualize (particularly the hand-outs) the gender joint assessment manual in Vietnamese.
- Conduct document review.
- Translate documents or interpret when necessary.

Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience of gender context of Vietnam.
- Good Writing skills
- Facilitation skills.
- Preferably experience in the field of gender audits and assessments, gender programming, research and children’s rights. 
- Fluent spoken and written English.
