National Communication Consultant

Agriterra ( www.agriterra.org ) is a leading cooperative development organization providing services to its clients worldwide. Our main goal is to support cooperatives to be farmer-led organization, providing better services to its members and influence the change of policy enabling environment for cooperative development. 

Project name: Enhancing performance of the horticultural sector in North/central Vietnam: educational, cooperative and value chain development under Orange Knowledge Program (OKP)

The OKP project is based on the long-term partnerships between 4 Dutch consortium members: Stichting Wageningen Research, Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation,  Lentiz Education Group, HAS University of Applied Sciences, Stichting Agriterra and one Vietnamese partner - Vietnam National University of Agriculture. It concentrates on enhancing performance of selected vegetable and fruit value chains in Northern Vietnam with gender and youth focus: 1) enhance capacity of next generation wishing to work in horticulture and fruit production in any part of the value chain so that they can meet labour market requirements; and 2) enhance capacity of stakeholders already working in horticulture so that they can improve their performance at individual, organizational and institutional levels and drive change to become more market-oriented at each step of the value chain.

This will be achieved through the following outputs:

1. Curricula and training material upgrade, interactive multi-disciplinary teaching approaches introduced at different levels of education;
2. Capacity of lecturers and trainers at different levels of education training improved
3. Innovation Centre for Horticulture (physical) established, as a spin-off business entity of VNUA, to facilitate education/private sector/government/research collaboration
4. Agri Cooperative Knowledge Hub (virtual) established to enhance capacity of horticultural cooperatives
5. Selected horticultural chains more market-oriented and upgraded
6. Project activities embedded in local context; consortium members long-term strategy with Vietnamese stakeholders enhanced. 

Under output 4, Agriterra and VCA works together to develop the Agri Cooperative Knowledge Hub to enhance capacity of horticultural cooperatives by provision of information and updating knowledge on this sector. This will also strengthen capacity of academia actor (VNUA) which supports to achieve output 1,2 and 3.

Agriterra is looking for a national communication consultant to support VCA to build a roadmap of developing Online Agri Cooperative Knowledge Hub and promoting this Hub to relevant audience. Please find attached TOR for further information.
