Market Access Officer

The British Embassy in Hanoi is part of a world-wide network of 230 Posts, representing British political, economic, trade and consular interests overseas. We are currently looking to recruit a Market Access Officer to join our UKTI team in Hanoi.

Main Duties

• Support UK companies encountering obstacles that affect their ability to export to and do business in Vietnam, delivering UKTI corporate targets in doing so.
• Monitor the regulatory environment, flagging issues that will affect UK commercial interests so that they can be communicated to relevant businesses and addressed accordingly.
• Develop and implement action plans to address priority market access issues in Vietnam.
• Support the Head of Section with delivery of the annual Joint Economic and Trade Committee, ensuring the mechanism delivers tangible outcomes that support UK business interests.
• Support pursuit of UKTI Vietnam’s High Value Opportunities.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Commercial awareness and experience of working with Vietnamese Government stakeholders on legal and regulatory issues would be an advantage. 
• Familiarity with WTO and wider trade policy issues.
• Event management experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Vietnamese.
• Be able to work as part of a team.
