Manager - Human Rights and Social Justice

Since its presence in Vietnam (1996), Caritas Switzerland in Vietnam (Caritas) has been committed to improving the lives of poor and marginalized people through demand-based and right-based approaches to help address local development issues. Caritas focuses its support on Human Rights and Social Justice, Sustainable Livelihood, Water and Sanitation, and Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction.

The Caritas Human Rights and Social Justice theme is further evolving with innovative projects focusing on the engagement of civil society organizations in increasing equal access of marginalized people to education, health care, social participation and employment as well as in the promotion of policy dialogue and advocacy. The Human Rights and Social Justice team consists of two members: a Theme Manager and a Project Officer managing three projects: Support to Hearing Impaired Children, Especially from Ethnic Minorities in Ha Giang; Inclusive Education and Social Development for Children with (Hearing-) Disabilities in Quang Binh; and Strengthen Government and Civil Society Organizations’ Partnership for Increased Access to Education for Children with Disability. While the Support to Hearing Impaired Children, Especially of Ethnic Minorities in Ha Giang project is currently on its final phase, the two other projects are newly developed and in their inception periods.

Within the Human Rights and Social Justice theme, Caritas works with various government agencies in Hanoi, Ha Giang and Quang Binh such as DoET, DoH, DoLISA, Centre for Disabled Children/People, as well as with other civil society organizations in order to mobilize society’s participation, and to ensure equity and social justice in the education sector, particularly for children with disabilities. These partners are responsible for project implementation in the field.

Caritas is seeking a highly qualified and self-motivated Manager to lead the Human Rights and Social Justice Theme. A detailed Job Description for this opportunity is attached.
