Job Title: JUNIOR PROJECT OFFICER
Project: Improved social protection and labor rights for women farmers in shrimp and rice value chains in Vietnam
Location: Hanoi and frequent travel to the Project provinces

Overview of the Project

The project “Improved social protection and labor rights for women farmers in shrimp and rice value chains in Vietnam” funded by Oxfam in Vietnam aimed to help 16,800 women farmers and workers in rice and shrimp value chain in Vietnam have access to adequate labour and social protection, contributing to gender equality and (shock) resilience by 2026. The project will be implement during the 2023 – 2026 period in 5 provinces (Kien Giang, Bac Lieu, An Giang, Ca Mau, Soc Trang). The project will apply the holistic approach to women’s empowerment, aiming to facilitate change at an individual and systematic level, both within informal and formal spaces.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Project Officer will primarily be responsible for ensuring the smooth implementation of the project with the following tasks

1. Project Implementation

  • Support timely implementation of activities in accordance with annual work plan;
  • Provide support to implementing partners as required;
  • Maintain close communication with partners to ensure relevance and quality of activities and projects’ outputs;
  • Support knowledge management transfer between Project’s PMU and 5 provinces to ensure communications messages, products and materials reach the target audiences;
  • Support the organization of events, workshops, trainings;
  • Contribute to documenting project materials, lessons learned, success stories, video clips, articles;
  • Support the production of communication materials such as brochures, success stories, video clips, articles;
  • Review and check the project visibility in all promotional and communication products and materials.

 2. Monitoring and Reporting

  • Contribute to the preparation and consolidation of project implementation results for the donor periodic reports;
  • Support the preparation and consolidation of periodic progress and financial reports of project partners;
  • Support the monitoring of project activities by conducting field visits and maintaining close communication with partners and consultants;
  • Keep records and file all documents related to planning and implementation of activities in line with the office filing system.

3. Other/administrative support

  • Provide input to various tasks such as workshops, research, analyses and publications;
  • Facilitate field trips for the project team and donors;
  • Support with filing and ensure documentation as requirements of the project;
  • Handle paperwork for the project implementation;
  • Support other activities in close coordination with the project team at national and provincial levels.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in the fields of social work, sociology, international relations, economics or a related field;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Teamwork spirit and self-motivated;
  • Excellent oral and written Vietnamese, fluent English;
  • Excellent command of MS-Office;
  • Willingness to travel frequently to project areas;
  • Dynamic, reliable, self-motivated, service-oriented and able to work under pressure;
  • Working experience in development projects is a plus.
