RECRUITMENT FOR INCOME GENERATION OFFICER

Good Neighbors is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization that plans, implements and raises funds for the provision of services in child education, community development, health, sanitation, and disaster relief projects. Currently Good Neighbors has been operating in 37 countries, supporting approximately 17 million people, including about 10 million children.

Good Neighbors International in Vietnam (GNI) is implementing Community Development Projects (CDP) based on child sponsorship in 3 provinces; Tuyen Quang, Hoa Binh, and Thanh Hoa. GNI is working in main areas as child sponsorship and education, water and sanitation, income generation, etc. in 6 CDPs and is managing about 10,000 sponsored children.

1. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: Country Director, Managing Director, General Manager, IGD Junior Manager/Team Leader/Officers, AD-FD Junior Manager/ Officers, Project Manager, Project Officer

External: Communities

2. MAIN DUTIES

• Research and propose activities on cooperative, household economic development basing on local economic situation;
• Survey to establish new IGGs in project area; Carry out procedures to establish new IGGs and cooperatives;
• Manage revolving fund, regularly visit, monitor the use of loan by HED fund members; ensure the loans are used for the right purpose, and reimbursement regulations;
• Actively search, contact with potential customers for selling IG products;
• Strengthen relationship between GNI and local government in IG development in community;
• Monitor and conduct technical supports for memberships
• Guide beneficiaries, member of cooperative about methods and techniques in doing proposal of activities;
• Support IGG, households, member of cooperative and beneficiaries with implementing activities effectively;
• Receive and check information of IGG, households and community to submit to HO;
• Receive information of IG development activities to deploy to beneficiary;
• Monitor and update figures relating to IG activities, make assessment and make report to HO and PM as required;
• Monitor and manage household economic development group to beneficiary.
• Support households to develop the livestock and agricultural production process in accordance with Viet GAHP standards.
• Record, track, store documents and data related to the IG activities; participate in evaluating the effectiveness, results of operations, report to project manager and HO;
• Doing other work as required.

3. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education:

• Bachelor degree in a relevant field (preferably: finance, economics, agriculture and other related fields)

Work experience:

• At least 1-year relevant working experience in IG and household economic development group establishment and management;
• Experience and skills of project management, including planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and partnership;
• Experience in working independently and with the team;
• Experience in community development or with NGO.

Skills:

• Ability to work independently and with the team;
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Good organizing skills and interpersonal skills;
• Good skill in computer use: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Email
• Basic English skill.

Attitude:

• Sociable, responsive, committed working with GNI at least 1 year
• Friendly, honestly and hard working
• Teamwork
