RECRUITMENT FOR INCOME GENERATION TEAM LEADER

Good Neighbors is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization that plans, implements and raises funds for the provision of services in child education,  community development, health, sanitation, and disaster relief projects. Currently Good Neighbors has works in 37 countries, supporting approximately 17 million people, including about 10 million children.

Good Neighbors International in Vietnam (GNI) is implementing Community Development Projects (CDP) based on child sponsorship in 4 provinces; Tuyen Quang, Hoa Binh, Thanh Hoa and Ha Giang. GNI in Vietnam sponsors about 10,000 children and implements community development projects (CDP) in education, water & sanitation, income generation sectors in 6 different areas of Vietnam.

Reports to: Country Director, General Manager, OD Junior Manager.    

Location: Head Office - Hanoi

Type of contract: Full time

1. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: Country Director, General Manager, AD-FD Junior Manager/Officers , PMs, Project Officers   

External: GNI’s Donors, Partners, Governmental. Officials, INGOs, Communities.

2. MAIN DUTIES

  • Manage to operate community development projects on Income Generation Sector:
    • Propose to line-manager and the board of directors’ strategic development plan and contents of Income Generation programs;
    • Manage business promotion through market researching, branding, value chain analyzing for products of IG project;
    • Control IG budget and revolving fund of whole field country;
    • Assign team members to participate in research, designing, monitoring and evaluation of projects;
    • Overall check Project’s Plan of Actions for IG program, and ensure that the plan matches with development policy of GNI;
    • Submitting line-manager project activities proposal, results report of IG activities in POA and special projects managed specifically by the team;
    • Direct, provide guidance and monitor implementation process of all activities co-managed by Field Office, ensure to meet the deadline, high quality and high efficiency;
    • Submit line-manager and board of director’s guidelines, standards, regulations and reports related to income generation;
    • Direct to make sure that CDP to obey the standards, guidelines and regulations related to IG and project management;
    • Report and appraise Managers and Directors if there is any violation related to project management from FO and solutions to deal with these violations;
    • Build up relationship with IG-related experts, professional agencies to promote the project.
  • Manage IG staffs
    • Recommend IG team’s personnel structure, functions and job description of positions in the team;
    • Assign tasks, and supervise working performance of each IG staff in HO;
    • Recommend to with OD manager and Board of Directors recruitment, sacking proposals or violation warning for IG staffs in HO and FO;
    • Participate in staff recruitment for IG Team in both HO and FO; 
    • Participate in annual performance appraisal of IG staff in HO and FO, or upon request of the OD Manager and Board of Directors;
    • Participate in annual CDP evaluation, or upon request of the OD Manager.
  • Support IG staff or directly work on (take charge of) any tasks if necessary.

3. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education:

  • University degree in Economics, Finance, Agriculture, Agricultural Development, Social Development and other related fields.     Work experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of similar role;
  • Able to work under pressure and solve the arising problem;
  • Experience of designing and implementing community development projects or programs to support farmers increase their income;
  • Experience of designing and delivering training to colleagues and ethnic minority farmers.

Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and work with the team;
  • Good organizing skills and interpersonal skills;
  • Good English language skills in writing & speaking;
  • Good skill in computer use
