1. Loreto Vietnam

Loreto Vietnam (formerly known as Loreto Vietnam Australia Program (LVAP), and Loreto Kids Charity) is a registered international non-government organization (INGO) in Vietnam (Permit Number:15/CNV-VPDA) dedicated to the reduction of poverty through beneficial, qualitative and responsive educational opportunities for underprivileged and disabled students. Since 1997, LVAP has reached out to over 60,000 children through our projects; giving them support in various forms to foster an encouraging learning environment. Our staff are comprised of a dedicated, small team based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

2. Position

The Fundraising Manageris responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of annual fundraising strategies. This includes responsibilities for technical, financial and administrative aspects of all fundraising projects. Please note this role is for part-time only, 3 days a week (on regular days agreed upon by both the candidate and Loreto Vietnam).

3. Major Responsibilities:

3.1 Fundraising

  • To develop an annual fundraising plan which includes:
    • achieving agreed budgetary requirements, including income and expenditure targets
  • To ensure the delivery of the action plan for fundraising, and review and revise as required.
  • To identify and execute potential fundraising events and activities for Loreto.
  • To research and identify potential donor and funding sources.
  • To work with the Executive Director to develop and maintain donor relationships.
  • To produce funding proposals for potential donors and additional funding sources.
  • To manage, maintain and develop a donor database including donor profiles and donor histories.
  • Other fundraising projects as required.

4. Requirements and qualifications

4.1 Essential:

  • A University degree
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Experience in income generating strategies and capacity to lead and implement fundraising strategies.
  • Ability to analyse information, evaluate options and work strategically.
  • Experience in financial management and reporting.
  • Experience in developing and managing relationships with key donors, stakeholders, sponsors and supporters
  • Excellent written and spoken English

4.2 Desirable:

  • Experience within the INGO context.
  • An understanding of the development context in Vietnam and a good understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable children and communities in Vietnam.
  • Experience of working with Government officials, local communities and/or local donors at all levels.
  • Vietnamese language skills
  • A minimum of 2 years practical fundraising experience.
  • Flexibility and ability to work within challenging contexts or timeframes.
  • There are occasional work and travel obligations associated with the work of Loreto and this position that may include weekends and/ or evenings as required.
