Fundraising Consultant for the Development and Implementation of a Training

Bread for the World (BftW) is a German non-government ecclesial organisation working throughout the world with the objective to contribute to an inclusive socio-economic development to overcome poverty. Guiding principles are social justice and ecological responsibility.

The regional office (RO) in Hanoi is cooperating with local and international partner organisations since 1996.

We are looking for a consultant for corporate fundraising who - in close cooperation with the responsible person in the RO - develops and delivers a training on corporate giving for our partner organizations in Vietnam. The training will first take place on site (not online) in Hanoi and is expected to be held several times for a maximum of 15-20 NGO staff (i.e. directors, fundraising, communication staff).

The assignment is to develop a one-day training on corporate giving for INGOs with this content:

• A general introduction to corporate giving and corporate social responsibility in Vietnam and if possible, as well in Laos, including an understanding of how corporations make funding decision.
• Prerequisites of the INGO.
• How to research potential new corporate supporters.
• How to present the relevant information in an attractive way.
• Practical guide on how to raise funds from corporates.

The assignment also includes identifying, contacting, and organizing a meeting with a CSR manager from a company in Hanoi to give workshop participants the opportunity to learn about the company's perspective.

The training should be methodically structured versatile: presentation, case-study examples, role-play, group work, group discussion etc.

The consultant:

We expect the consultant to have an understanding of the corporate world and the (I)NGO scene and knowledge of the legal framework for fundraising in Vietnam and if possible, as well in Laos. The consultant ideally has practical experience in corporate fundraising and /or in the environment of an (I)NGO in one of the two countries.

Key competencies:

• Master’s degree in International Development Studies, Social Sciences, Fundraising or other related studies with strong skills and practical experience in fundraising in Vietnam and if possible, as well in Laos.
• At least 5 years of professional fundraising experience with an (I)NGO in Vietnam and/or Laos.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Vietnamese are preconditions. Lao language skills are an asset.

The training will take place between August and December 2022.
