Facilitator recruitment for community development capacity building workshop in Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province in early of May

I.Background

Good Neighbors is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization that plans, implements and raises funds for the provision of services in child education, community development, health, sanitation, and disaster relief projects. Currently Good Neighbors has been operating in 30 countries, supporting approximately 16.8 million people, including 9.6 million children.
Good Neighbors International in Vietnam (GNV) has been implementing “Community Development Project Based on Child Sponsorship” in 4 communes of Son Duong District, Tuyen Quang Province since 2011. The project includes 4 main components: (i) child sponsorship and education, (ii) water and sanitation, (iii) income generation and (iv)capacity building for local partners and the community.
In order to improve local partner’s capability in co-operation with our organization. We are looking for a facilitator to be in charge of our 2 days workshop in Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province for our Community Development Committee (CDC) members and the beneficiaries.

II.Scope of work

- Evaluate community’s training demands (target on community development and GNV sponsored community development)
- Design a workshop/training course  based on the evaluated result (detail content, duration, etc.)
- Facilitate, manage the workshop
- Evaluate training result (survey, etc) and conduct training report

III.Expected outcome

- Local CDC members and beneficiaries complete understanding of what project development and community development are.
- Local CDC members and beneficiaries complete understanding of GNV’s community development methodologies and processes.
- Local CDC members and beneficiaries have skill on making strategy, plan of action for community development sponsored by GNV
- Local CDC members and beneficiaries complete understanding of the process of following up and evaluating of project programs

IV.Location and time of workshop

Location: Dai Phu community centre, Son Duong District, Tuyen Quang Province.
Time: May 6-7th, 2013 (time of the workshop may change due to the availability of local partners, this will be informed to the shortlisted candidates)

V.Facilitator Qualification

- Vietnamese nationality
- University degree or higher in the relevant field with 05 years of progressive working experience;
- Expertise in community development methodologies; and evaluation and monitoring process;
- Experience in capacity building to local stakeholders and local people in such topics as improved production practices; market and market information and services; business development and promotion;
- Excellence presentation skills;
- Strong experience with community development and capacity building projects.
