1. BACKGROUND

Passerelles numériques (PN), a non-profit organisation, is dedicated to provide education, technical and professional training in the digital sector to young underprivileged people by leveraging their potential and willpower. We endeavour to truly develop their employability which will allow them and their families to escape poverty in a sustainable way, and contribute to the social and economic development of their countries.

Established in Cambodia, the Philippines and Vietnam, Passerelles numériques currently trains 555 students and aims to train 750 in the next three years. PN employs 96 people
based in these three countries including a small team in France.

Passerelles numériques relies on the financial and skills sponsorship of several corporate partners such as Accenture, Econocom-Osiatis, CA Technologies and Microsoft and also
receives support from individual donors.

Launched in 2010 in Da Nang, PN Vietnam offers a 2-year vocational training program to youth in precarious situations from the Central region of Vietnam. PN Vietnam graduated 163 students so far.

2. JOB DESCRIPTION

The External Relations Office at Passerelles numériques Vietnam (PNV) is in charge of maintaining and developing the relationships between the organisation and the partner companies and prospects, with the main objectives of promoting PN program towards companies thus securing internship placement for PNV students and facilitating job placement for graduates as well as raising fund.

The External Relations Office is a key department in the organisation to create a positive public image for PNV.

The person will work in External Relations Department, with the role and responsibilities as described in the followings sections.

3. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

ROLE: This position will work and report directly to the External Relations Manager (ERM).

1. Partnership development

  • Maintain and develop relations with partner companies, according to PNV methodology and guidelines. Ensure the follow-up and recording of those relations.
  • Identify potential companies for partnering with PNV and contact for company visits/job placement/internship/orientation session/workshops for students and fundraising.
  • Update the contact file software.
  • Contribute to the organisation and logistics of events and actions to promote PNV
  • Take part in IT market survey (every 2 years)

2. Job search assistance

  • Identify suitable job offers and communicate them to graduated students
  • Follow up individual situations and coordinate with Professional Life Trainer to support the graduated to find their first employment (through workshop, group working session, individual counselling, etc.)
  • Ensure a proper reporting system for job placement is in place and updated
  • Maintain close collaboration and good report with HR departments of partner companies

3. Internship placement

  • Contribute to the preparation of annual internship action plan
  • Participate into the search for companies to welcome PNV students as interns
  • Prepare all documentation related to the company agreements and follow-up
  • Follow up of students’ situations during their internship, in close relationship with
  • Education & Training teams
  • Produce reports as requested

4. Communication

  • Take part in developing reporting materials such as: articles for newsletter, internal information, reports to partners, etc.
  • Take part in developing communication materials such as: e-cards, brochures, flyers, etc.
  • Manage the picture library of PNV
  • Contribute to the Facebook or other social marketing network editing, according to PN guidelines
  • Maintain good contact with media to have articles about projects or events written and posted.
  • Take part in communication plan and initiatives

5. Fundraising

  • Propose and participate in fundraising activities
  • Ensure the follow-up and recording of donations
  • Coordinate & organise volunteer activities from donors & partners
  • Follow up and maintain relationship with donors
  • Produce reports as requested

6. PNV alumni communication and activities

  • Follow up and work with Alumni to ensure effective & proper communication
  • Attend Alumni meetings as PNV representative to follow up & support Alumni activities

4. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Specific skills:

  • College or University degree with related majors (Economics, Languages, News & Media...)
  • Very good attitude and know-how to build and maintain customer relationship (experience in customer service or customer care is a plus)
  • Good skills in searching and analyzing information
  • Knowledge and experiences in Communication & Marketing
  • Experience in social media
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power point)

2. General skills:

  • Excellent communication skills and good command on both English and Vietnamese(spoken and written)
  • Open to work in a multicultural environment

3. “A plus” skill:

  • Proficient in editorial tools of photos, videos (Photoshop, etc.)
  • Knowledge in both business and NGO worlds
  • Knowledge of Vietnamese communication common practices
