IFAD seeks English-Vietnamese (and vice versa) Interpreter for Meetings, Workshops, Events and Field Missions – Consultancy Services Required

Organisational Context

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution and a specialized United Nations agency dedicated to eradicating rural poverty and hunger. It does so by investing in rural people. IFAD finances programmes and projects that increase agricultural productivity and raise rural incomes, and advocates at the local, national and international level for policies that contribute to rural transformation.

Key results expected/Major functional activities

• Provide simultaneous/consecutive interpretation during meetings, conferences, workshops, training, events…
• Participate in field missions and provide simultaneous/consecutive interpretation.
• Translation of debriefing summary, meeting minutes, mission reports… during the mission.
• Translation of transcription from audio or audio-visual files, visibility material and power point documents, and web as required.

COMPETENCIES

• Demonstrate good interpretation skills
• Provide proper, clear and faithful interpretation
• Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of document translation
• Ability to work independently as well as in a multi-cultural team

MINIMUM RECRUITMENT QUALIFICATIONS

• University and/or advanced degree(s) in English
• Having experience in English-Vietnamese (and vice versa) simultaneous interpretation
• Providing proof of simultaneous interpretation in development sector.
• It is preferred for whose service quality was approved by the development organisations.
