CarBi Biodiversity Monitoring Team Leader

WWF Vietnam Country Programme is one country component of the WWF Greater Mekong and is the implementing arm for projects in Vietnam mainly in Central Annamites, Southern Annamites and the Mekong Delta. Our major activities focus on Freshwater, Forestry, Marine and Aquaculture, Agriculture and Agroforestry, Policy and Advocacy.

We are currently seeking for an well-qualified and experienced Vietnam full-time consultant to the position of CarBi Biodiversity Monitoring Team Leader. The position will be Hue/Quang Nam field office with considerable time in the field

Main responsibilities:

The CarBi Biodiversity Monitoring Team Leader is responsible for all biodiversity survey and monitoring work within the Vietnamese CarBi protected areas. The post-holder supervises the CarBi monitoring team in data collection, following protocols developed in consultation with the CarBi Wildlife Biologist and Central Vietnam Landscape Manager, and leads in data management, analysis

Qualifications and Experience:
· Degree in forestry, biology or related field
· Experience of biodiversity surveys and species conservation work in Vietnam
· Knowledge of key species and biodiversity conservation issues in Vietnam
· Basic knowledge of principles of scientific data collection and statistics
· Knowledge of computer software ideally including GIS and statistical software
· Willingness to spend extended time in remote field conditions
· Willingness to learn and commitment to career development as leading conservation researcher in Vietnam.
