Biodiversity Research Officer

GreenViet Biodiversity Conservation Centre is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Biodiversity Research Officer. The job descriptions are as follows:

1.      Position: Biodiversity Research Officer

2.      Workplace: 60 Thanh Vinh 2, Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang

3.      Main responsibilities:

• Develop plans and budgets for field research activities.
• Conduct field surveys to collect biodiversity data on flora and fauna, and research species conservation.
• Organize technical training sessions to enhance the research, monitoring, and biodiversity conservation capacities of local partners in biodiversity investigation and species conservation.
• Prepare technical reports on research findings, field surveys, and training sessions.
• Fulfill other tasks as assigned by GreenViet’s Director or Head of the Research and Project Management Department.

4. Requirements:

- Qualification:University degree or higher in Forestry, Biology, Nature Conservation, or Sustainable Development.

- Experiences:

• At least 1 year of experience in biodiversity research or surveys in general, or specialized knowledge in a specific group of flora or fauna.
• Experience in planning and organizing fieldwork in the forests and preparing survey or investigation reports.

- Relevant knowledge:

• Basic understanding of biodiversity, wild fauna, and flora conservation.
• Good teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and carry out long-day fieldwork.
• Proficiency in using basic tools and equipment for biodiversity surveys, such as maps, handheld GPS devices, DSLR cameras, binoculars, compasses, QGIS software, etc.
• Candidates with an English certificate at B2 level or equivalent will be given priority.

• Confident, dynamic;
• Be honest, enthusiastic, and hardworking attitude;
• High sense of responsibility;
• Passion for nature and the environment;
• Creative, eager to expand knowledge.

- Health

• Good physical health is required to carry out long-day fieldwork in the forest.
• No physical disabilities or injuries that may affect mobility and climbing abilities.

- Gender: Male

- Age: from 22 to 35 years old.
