TVET Expert – Hospitality/Tourism

Swisscontact is tendering for a Sustainable Tourism project in Vietnam, and we are looking for a:

TVET expert in the Hospitality/Tourism sector
Employment start: March 2023 (negotiable)
Contract duration: 2 years with option of renewal
Place of work: Hanoi, Vietnam
The position is subject to project award

Overall

The TVET expert in Hospitality/Tourism sector will be responsible to establish an Executive Hospitality Training (EHT), and a network of international/Swiss and Vietnamese tourism experts in partnership with a Swiss/international training institution.

The TVET expert will lead the programming, coordination, and implementation of the skills development component and related capacity building in sustainable tourism and hospitality.

Tasks

• In partnership with the Swiss/international training institution conduct an assessment of the potential Vietnamese partners and select the most adequate one to establish an Executive Hospitality training
• Ensure a strong, smooth working partnership and collaboration between the Vietnamese and the Swiss/international institutions
• Support the Swiss/international and Vietnamese institutions in programming, implementing and in monitoring progress
• Providing technical advice in skills development and in conducting assessment of the markets needs analysis
• Providing technical assistance in identifying and selecting Vietnamese and Swiss/international expertise based in Vietnam
• Ensuring and coordinating the dynamics of the experts’ network at national, provincial and district levels
• As member of the management team, contributing to the overall strategic choices of the project
• Ensuring budget programming and follow-up of the component
• Ensuring timely coordination, delivery, monitoring and reporting of the project activities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Economics, Tourism Studies, Social Sciences, Educational Sciences, Engineering, Business Administration, or any other relevant field
• Fluent in Vietnamese, excellent command of written and spoken English
• Full computer literacy
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the field of TVET in hospitality/tourism sector and in implementing capacity building projects with educational institutions, experience in establishing an EHT program is an advantage
• Minimum 5years in management, programming, and monitoring of projects, preferably multi/bilateral projects
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an international environment, and in coordinating national and international experts
• Minimum 5 years of experience with public and private actors in skills development, preferably in the hospitality and tourism sector
• An excellent knowledge of the sustainability standards in the hospitality/tourism sector.
