Senior Officer Economic Affairs Section

The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Hanoi is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time position of Senior Officer at the Economic Section.

Overall responsibility

The Senior Officer Economic Affairs Section primarily focuses on analysing the business environment in Vietnam, spotting of opportunities for Dutch businesses in Vietnam, the implementation of the Dutch development cooperation and trade promotion instruments relevant to Vietnam and the dissemination of relevant information amongst others via (digital) media.

The Senior Officer Economic Affairs Section is a proffesional pro-active team player, who is result oriented and is not afraid of taking responsibility. When needed, he or she is capable of performing the job in autonomous manner. The Senior Officer sets priorities and follows up on these. He or she can switch quickly between different subjects and activities, is aware of integrity, formal rules and handling information, and has a communicative nature.

Specific duties and responsibilities

• Providing information on the business environment in Vietnam, spotting of business leads for Dutch businesses in Vietnam, and the Dutch development cooperation, aid to trade, and trade promotion instruments relevant to Vietnam to colleagues within the Embassy and to parties that may want to make use of these instruments.
• Identifying information needs on the business environment for Dutch businesses in Vietnam, and on the Dutch development cooperationand trade promotion instruments relevant to Vietnam; spotting of business leads for Dutch businesses in Vietnam.
• Gathering information on the business environment in Vietnam (including laws), spotting of business leads for Dutch businesses in Vietnam, and the Dutch development cooperation, aid to trade, and trade promotion instruments relevant to Vietnam.

Qualifications and requirements

• Completed academic degree
• Excellent command of Vietnamese and English in word and writing
• A working knowledge of Dutch is considered an advantage
• Relevant work experience in the fields of trade promotion, aid-to-trade and development cooperation
• Experience with (social) media tools.
• The Embassy aims at a high diversity among its staff.
