The GIZ Country Office in Viet Nam is looking for a qualified Vietnamese person to fill the position:

Public Relations (PR) Coordinator

Duty station: Hanoi, Viet Nam

Main responsibilities: The PR Coordinator is responsible for organizing and overseeing the media, PR activities and ensuring effective communication in the country.

National media work

  • coordinates press and media activities in the country;

  • establishes and maintains contact with national media;

  • writes and sends out press releases; compiles information materials for the media (basic material and for specific occasions) and distributes these systematically in line with the target group’s needs;

  • organises national media events and press trips for journalists;

  • monitors the media (documentation and analysis of media reports on GIZ);

  • be in charge for GIZ Viet Nam’s social media channels and other online media platforms

National PR work

  • (further) develops suitable communication instruments for PR (e.g. country brochures, fact sheets, advertising material, information sheets for the country portfolio);

  • manages the necessary coordination processes and the production of publications and materials in accordance with GIZ standards (corporate design, standards for content);

  • organises events; supports foreign delegations and very important visits (VIP visits);

  • provides editorial support

Internal communication

  • develops and supports appropriate communication instruments (e.g. internal information platform, internal events)

  • advises local staff on the regulations and contacts for PR in the interests of a uniform GIZ image

Minimum requirements:  

  • University degree in communication or similar;

  • At least 5 years professional experience in the field of communication (media and PR work, journalism, internal communication or similar);

  • Working experience with international organizations. Previous work experience with other development organizations (like UN, EU, DFAT, USAID) is an asset;

  • Experience with media production and media network (proven track records and samples are required), experience in writing articles, press releases and editorial;

  • Experience in project and event management;

  • Creative, good organizational skills and strong analytical skills;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a confident journalistic style;

  • Fluent in English and Vietnamese. German is an asset;

  • Very good working knowledge of information technologies (related graphic design and film making software, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office). Having experience in running social media and new digital tools is an asset.
