The Vietnam Public Health Association (VPHA) is a professional social organization established by the decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs in 2002. The association operates in Vietnam in Public Health through building intervention models. Effective interventions, evidence-based advocacy, Public Health research and training, and the Journal of Public Health.

With funding from the United Nations Office of Project Services for Asia and the Pacific (UNOPS), VPHA is implementing the project: “Enhancing private sector’s responsibility in Vietnam’s Malaria elimination” in the 2021-2023 period in four provinces of Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, and Binh Phuoc. VPHA needs to recruit 01 project staff. The application deadline is 02/8/2023.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Vacancy: Project Assistant (PA)
  • Reporting directly to Project Coordinator, Accountant, and Project Director
  • Contract duration: from July to December 2023 and can be extended annually depending on performance
  • Location: The association's office is in Hanoi, and can go on business trips in 4 project provinces or other areas of the association's activities.

RESPONSIBILITY

  • Carry out administrative and logistics-related activities of the project
  • Prepare logistics for project activities such as organizing seminars, screening health check events, training, and procurement of project equipment and items (implementation planning, working with partners on program content, drafting contracts, monitoring the progress of activities, carrying out advance procedures, payment settlement activities following the financial regulations of the project, etc.)
  • Drafting official letter, correspondence with partners under the support and supervision of the project coordinator
  • Maintain papers, documents, and project assets in accordance with regulations, take notes, write meeting reports, and report activities in English and/or Vietnamese
  • Support in the recruitment, training, and capacity-building support for private clinics and pharmacies (PSPs) and malaria elimination volunteers (MEVs)
  • Support project coordinator and PO in monitoring and activities of PSPs and MEVs according to the project action plan)
  • Monitor and validate data and compile monthly activity reports from the local coordinator
  • Participate in the preparation of activity reports requested by donors when requested
  • Going to the field to monitor project activities, work with experts and partners in the field, or other activities at VPHA when required
  • Perform other duties as the project director, project coordinator, and project accountant are assigned
  • Directly report regular work as well as activities arising in the position to the Project Coordinator, Project Accountant, and Project Director
  • Translate documents from English to Vietnamese when necessary

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • University graduate in related disciplines such as Public Health, Community Development, and Social Work and related fields
  • Working experience in NGO or NGO projects related to public health, community development, and social work is an advantage
  • Good ability in speaking and writing in Vietnamese and English
  • Ability to work under time pressure
  • Ability to work independently, in groups, and good communication skills
  • Proficient in using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint programs
  • Willing to travel domestically and on weekends as required.

Working time: Full-time, starting from August 2023 or as soon as possible
