JUNIOR ASSISTANT & TRANSLATOR (EN/FR-VN and vice versa)

The Embassy of Switzerland in Hanoi is currently accepting applications for a female or male Junior Assistant and Translator (EN/FR-VN and vice-versa). This is a full-time position.

Your main tasks:

• Front desk reception, answering and forwarding phone calls, receiving visitors
• Diplomatic correspondence
• Translation English/French-Vietnamese and Vietnamese-English/French
• Updating of databases
• Translating into Vietnamese and uploading of posts on the Embassy Facebook page
• Supporting the organization of Embassy events
• Handling/distribution of incoming mail
• Coordinating the schedule of the Embassy drivers/messengers

Your profile

• University degree
• Excellent command and capacity to translate Vietnamese, English and French
• At least 2 years of practical working experience in an international setting, familiarity with diplomatic work and protocol is an advantage
• Proficiency in Office applications and Facebook administration
• Dynamic all-rounder with a high degree of reliability, well organized, used to work in a multicultural team with cross-cultural communication skills
• Able to work efficiently and effectively, incl. at times with multiple demands and under time pressure
