Position :  02 English teachers

Starting date : July 2012

Primary Purpose:

The English Language Teacher (ELT) has principle responsibilities for the delivery of the specialized English Language curriculum to the trainees. The ELT will work closely with the English Language Trainer and volunteers to continually develop and deliver the English language for special purposes course.

Position Responsibilities:
-     Delivery of the specialized English language curriculum for the hospitality industry to the trainees
-     Create and manage a classroom environment, which is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
-     Demonstrate high quality teaching skills, which enable all students to achieve their full potential.
-     Distribute, collect and grade tests and homework assignments, then compute and record results
-     Work closely with the other English teacher and volunteers to continually develop and deliver the English language for special purposes course.
-     Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of the ESL curriculum
-     Monitor and evaluate trainees’ progress as detailed in the curriculum, participate in termly trainee appraisals
-     Provide feedback to Head of Training in the trainee progress
-     Coordinate English language class roster with the Front of House and Kitchen staff, in the absence of the English Language Trainer.
-     Assist the trainees in English study in the Resource Centre with extra reading, writing, learning games or computer work
-     Provide tutoring for weaker trainees if needed
-     Assist other volunteers with their activities
-     Support other departments with KOTO activities if required (trainee recruitment, translation on special occasions…)
-     Participate and contribute to regular staff and general meetings
-     Act as mentor, support person and role model for the trainees

Minimum Requirements
Formal education: University English Language teaching degree
Work experience: Minimum of two years teaching experience
