#052 - Job Title: The National Consultant on communication in air pollution
1. Background:
Air pollution is a leading cause of disease and premature death in the world. Around the world an average of 6.5 million deaths per year related to air pollution, of which 3 million from outdoor air pollution, 2/3 of the deaths are in Southeast Asia and in the Western Pacific, 94% of air pollution deaths are related to cardiovascular disease, stroke, chronic obstructive pneumonia, and lung cancer. PM2.5 is considered the most dangerous air pollutant to health.
The Centre for Rural Development in Central Vietnam (CRD) was founded in 1995 with the missions to conduct research, training, technology transfer and policy advocacy in order to enhance the capacity of the people, social organizations, community and local officials on agriculture and rural development with a view to improving livelihood, environmental and ecological protection, social equity and democracy.
