Community Capacity Development Officers

Good Neighbors is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization that plans, implements and raises funds for the provision of services in child education, community development, health, sanitation, and disaster relief projects. Currently Good Neighbors has been operating in 37 countries, supporting approximately 17 million people, including more than 10 million children.

Good Neighbors International in Vietnam (GNI) is implementing Community Development Projects (CDP) based on child sponsorship in 3 provinces; Tuyen Quang, Hoa Binh, and Thanh Hoa. GNI is working in main areas as child sponsorship and education, water and sanitation, income generation, etc. in 9 CDPs and is managing over 9,600 sponsored children.

1. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: Country Director, Managing Director, OD Manager/Officers, SSD Manager/Officers, AD Manager/Officers, PM, Project Officers
External: GNI’s Donors, Partners, Governmental Officials, INGOs, Communities

2. MAIN DUTIES

Two different positions of CCD officers will be recruited:

For Education Officer:

1. Design and develop programs related to Education Sector in CDPs;
2. Build up standards, guidelines, regulations related to sectors managed by the team; and instruct CDP’s staffs to follow;
3. Provide technical support to CDP during making plan and implementing activities of Education Sectors;
4. Push CDPs to implement the activities timely and effectively; Conduct - regular or when requested - field trip to monitor project activity related to sectors she/he managed;
5. Participate in design, monitor and evaluate all programs of CCD Team;
6. Other tasks assigned by OD Manager and Team Leader.

For Health, Water and Sanitation Officer:

1. Design and develop programs related to Water & Sanitation (WATSAN), Health and Environment Sector in all CDPs;
2. Build up standards, guidelines, regulations related to sectors managed by the team; and instruct CDP’s staffs to follow;
3. Provide technical support to CDP during making plan and implementing activities of Water & Sanitation, Health, Environment Sectors annually in all CDPs;
4. Push CDPs to implement the activities timely and effectively; conduct - regular or when requested - field trip to monitor project activity related to sectors she/he managed;
5. Participate in design, monitor and evaluate project;
6. Report to Team leader about progress, result of project activity that managed or implemented;
7. Other tasks assigned by OD Manager and Team Leader.

3. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

For Education Officer:

• A bachelor’s degree of Education Management, Early Childhood, Primary Education, English Language, Developmental Psychology, Social Workers or related fields;

For Health & WATSAN Officer :

• A bachelor’s degree of Environmental Engineer, Public health.

Work experience

• Minimum of 01 year of relevant working experience,
• INGO working experience is preferable;
• Experience and skills of project management, including planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and partnership.

Skills

• Fluent in spoken and written English;
• Be able to work well with children and local people; 
• Be good at organizing, team work and interpersonal skills;
• Own good computer skills including MS Office package (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Attitude

• Sociable, responsive, committed working with GNI at least 02 years.
• Accountable and transparent;
• Dynamic, reliable, self-motivated;
• Teamwork
• Able to work under pressure.
