FHI 360 is an international non-governmental organization that, in Vietnam, promotes the health and well-being of the Vietnamese people, particularly vulnerable and marginalized populations. FHI 360 leads Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC), a global project focused on HIV, global health security, and combatting trafficking in persons using funding from the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). As part of a broader portfolio of activities, EpiC supports community-based organizations and social enterprises in seven provinces (Can Tho, Dong Nai, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Kien Giang, Tay Ninh, and Tien Giang) to provide HIV services in the community.

EpiC is seeking up to two qualified and motivated Vietnamese candidates to serve in the role of Communications Consultant, based in a project-supported province, and focused on the following tasks:

Main responsibilities:

  • Promote the use and role of community-based organizations in the provision of HIV services.
  • Guide CBOs to implement communication plans and promote their services; orient and provide technical support to enable CBOs to construct and implement communication activities.
  • Assess the impact of communication activities and campaigns.
  • Manage the development and design of audience-targeted communication materials and publications in accordance with project requirements, the branding guidelines, and communication strategies.
  • Optimize the use of content on websites, social media, digital and print publications, etc. to ensure maximum reach and engagement.
  • Ensure voice, branding, messaging, and frequency of posting via digital channels.
  • Work with colleagues to develop and provide trainings on communication skills.
  • Develop, disseminate, and promote success models and stories, lessons learned, and other relevant documents for donors, government partners, implementation partners.
  • Support project engagement with the media.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • University degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or related field, advanced degree preferred.
  • Relevant experience working on communications for donor-funded HIV programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of development issues and HIV epidemic(s) particularly in relation to high-risk groups.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and management of various social media platforms.
  • Creative, organized person with attention to details and ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural setting and under pressure.
  • Experience with USAID and/or PEPFAR preferred.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills in both Vietnamese and English required.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.

Period of Performance: Six months (full-time) from October 1st, 2023 to March 31st, 2024 with the possibility to extend based on funding availability.
