WWF Vietnam Country programme is one of four countries program of Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam under the WWF Greater Mekong Programme. Two of the WWF’s Global 200 priority ecoregions including Greater Annamites and Mekong River Ecoregion are the priority conservation focus of WWF Vietnam. WWF Vietnam work in the Greater Annamites is focused on priority landscapes in the Central Annamites and Southern Annamites and in the Mekong River in the Delta and major tributaries in the Annamites WWF Vietnam programme is implementing WWF Greater Mekong Programme Strategic Plan and other WWF International Initiatives including Tiger, Climate Change and Energy, Market Transformational, Forests Carbon, and China SHIFT and By catch.

In carrying out its mandate to facilitate the achievement of its vision, and goal, WWF Vietnam builds partnerships with the WWF network, governments, businesses, local and international NGOs, and local communities. There is well-experienced approach of involving local communities and indigenous peoples in the design and implementation of field programmes, with local governments and facilitating links with national governments. Further, it promotes concrete conservation solutions through a combination of field-based projects, policy initiatives, capacity building and education activities.
WWF Greater Mekong - Vietnam Country Programme Office is seeking to recruit a well-qualified and experienced person for the full-time position of AQUACULTURE ADVISOR (based in Hanoi City, Vietnam, with travel to project site when required)

Main responsibilities:
This position is to support the Cooperation Agreement between WWF, Vietnam Fisheries Society (VINAFIS) and the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) for furthering Vietnam and WWF's efforts to protect and conserve the country's life-supporting resources by improving the sustainability of pangasius aquaculture, ensuring the Vietnamese pangasius industry becomes a global leader in responsible production as defined by being compliant with an independent, third-party certification process for international environmental and social sustainability standards to achieve Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certification.

Key requirements are:
- At least master degree level in aquaculture and/or aquatic biology.  Additional academic training or a degree in a conservation and natural resources management field would be a strong asset.At least - 5 years experience working at the project/programme level
- Experience of working and negotiating with Government officials and/or donors at all levels.
- Experienced interpersonal, communication and diplomatic skills with the ability to manage and interact at all levels of an international, multicultural and multilingual organization
- Proven record in developing, implementing and managing projects/programmes in the field of aquaculture, aquatic biology, nature conservation and natural resources management. 
- Knowledge of sustainable fisheries and landscape conservation; Knowledge of current context in Mekong Delta will be an advantage.
- Understanding of local laws and regulations of Vietnam in related fields;
- Proven records in project proposal development, projects M&E, and reports writing.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in MS Office and functional software.
