Agency/Consultants to Conduct a Research Video on the Forgotten Lives of Hanoi’s Industrial Factories in the Urban Context of Vietnam

Hanoi is in the midst of a rapid urbanization process. The city’s population is growing by about 3-4% per year and its economy by about 6-9% per year (GSO 2020). In Hanoi’s central districts and near periphery, these pressures are intersecting with the relocation of productive activities to trigger major land redevelopment operations. The hundred or so factories which Hanoi has inherited from the 20th century stand at the center of this land redevelopment process. More than mere production spaces, these socialist factories shaped the subjectivities and everyday life of their users and the neighborhoods that developed around them.

Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Asia is looking for agency/consultants to conduct a research video on the forgotten lives of Hanoi’s industrial factories in the urban context of Vietnam.
