Développement International Desjardins (DID) is a non-government-organization which belongs to Desjardins Group in Canada. It was established with a mission to support and promote the cooperative credit model in the world in general and the People’s Credit Funds (PCFs) in Vietnam in particular. DID has implemented several projects in Vietnam since 1993 to assist the People's Credit Fund network in its establishment and development.
Despite abortion being legally available in Vietnam, female sex workers face significant barriers to accessing services due to the illegality of sex work, stigma, discrimination by service providers, and lack of information. Funded by Grand Challenges Canada, Center for Promotion of Advancement of Society (CPAS) will be developing and implementing a mHealth intervention, entitled: ‘Mobile Connect’, to address unsafe abortion among female sex workers in Vietnam.
