As many as 98% of the total 839 respondents in Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City have antibodies to COVID-19, HCMC health authorities cited the latest survey by the municipal Center for Diseases Control (HCDC) and the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU) as reporting.
Local authorities ordered the two facilities to conduct the survey to evaluate herd immunity after the city used to be the COVID-19 epicenter and carried out COVID-19 vaccination campaigns.
Researchers carried out the survey in September by randomly choosing people aged 0-70 of different sexes and geographical locations.
The survey result is similar to that of a study to assess the immune response among medical staff at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh City.
