Animals Asia signed an agreement with the Vietnamese Government to bring bear bile farming to an end. We are looking for someone with a passion for data and IT to join our team as a Data Input and IT Support Office.
This is a full-time, ongoing position where you will be based at our Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre in Tam Dao National Park.
You are fluent in English and Vietnamese and have excellent attention to detail. You enjoy office-based work, the majority of which is spent at a computer. You have some IT skills and are able to provide general (non-expert) technical assistance for the department’s IT systems (e.g. troubleshooting printer errors, WiFi connectivity issues, or basic software issues) and support staff in learning how to use basic software (e.g. Microsoft office suite).

Responsibilities
- Insert bear behavioural, veterinary and other data (text and numerical) into established databases from source documents within time limits
- Manage data input responsibilities according to departmental priorities and deadlines
- Translate written documents or records from English to Vietnamese or Vietnamese to English
- Scan documents and print files when needed
- Respond to queries for information from within the department and access relevant files
- Ensure proper use of office equipment and address any malfunctions
- Assists Animals Asia staff in Vietnam with the onboarding and use of organisation-accepted software platforms after adequate training (e.g. Gmail and Google suite, Slack)
- Provide basic IT troubleshooting and talk staff through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues.
- Ensures office supplies are maintained, including checking inventory and ensuring adequate levels of necessary supplies at all times
The ideal starting date for this position is early November 2022.
Requirements
- University graduate (preferred (in a field such as foreign or language studies or IT)
- At least one year of experience working in a bilingual (English and Vietnamese) workplace, using computers and other common hardware (printers etc) for professional work
- Certification in basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite specialisation) would be highly desirable.
- Fluency in English and Vietnamese
- Good typing speed and accuracy
- Strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with administrative duties
- Basic IT competency, including operational knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Capable of some software-based troubleshooting (unresponsive printers, error screens, etc.)
- Experience communicating with people from a diverse range of cultures
