National Consultant to Support One Health Partnership in establishing a Technical Working Group on Antimicrobial Resistance

Call for consultancy:  National Consultant – Support One Health Partnership in establishing a Technical Working Group on Antimicrobial Resistance

Detailed Description of Tasks to be Performed:

Viet Nam One Health Partnership Framework for Zoonoses (OHP), covering the period from 2021 to 2025, was signed by three ministries (the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development - MARD, the Ministry of Health - MOH), and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment - MONRE), together with 30 national and international signatories (updated OHP members). OPH is led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and co-chaired by MOH and MONRE.

Pursuant to the OHP Framework, different Technical Working Groups (TWG) on 7 main working areas are encouraged to be established for technical support, sharing experiences, knowledge, and outcomes of the completed and on-going OH related activities/programs/researches, then proposing solutions and policy recommendations to the OHP Steering Committee for adoption. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the 7 main and important working areas prioritized under  OHPF that needs further collaboration, lessons learned from national and international levels, and resource mobilization for the improved capacity to address AMR under the context of Viet Nam.

Under this scope of work, the National Consultant will perform administrative and coordinative works to conduct necessary studies to gather related information for drafting a TOR and have it commented on by related government agencies and partners, with the aim to eventually have the AMR TWG formally established by the current OHP Chair. The consultant will work closely with OHP Secretariat based at MARD as well as other relevant partners and sectors, if any, to make sure that the TWG will start operating in due course
