Institute for Social Development Studies (ISDS) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation established by the Decision 468/TC-LHH dated 27th May 2002 of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA). Until now, ISDS has been recognized as one of the leading reputable research institutes in Viet Nam for its high quality research and appliance of social science in interventions and policy recommendations for positive societal changes. ISDS’s works cover various fields, from gender, sexuality to social inclusion, economics, and civil society development. ISDS’ activities include research, advocacy, consultancy, training, community development, and public education.
ISDS is now looking for a talented and motivated individual for the full-time Researcher position described below. The researcher will work under the Head of Research Department for a range of different quantitative and qualitative research studies. The incumbent is contributing to design and conduct/ manage research designation, fieldwork, and report writing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Involvement in and contribution to the design and conduct of quantitative and qualitative research studies of the Institute which includes literature review, design of research tools, fieldwork, data analysis, writing of reports and other publications.
- Participation in coordinating with other stakeholders to ensure the successful conduct of the research studies of the Institute,
- Contribution to building up ideas and proposals to call for fundings for the research studies of the Institute,
- Carrying out other tasks as required by the Board of Directors and Head of the Department.
- Participation in common activities of the Institute.
Requirements:
- MA degree in social science, humanities, journalism.
- At least 05 year of experience in related fields, experience in social research is preferable.
- Strong interest in social issues and social studies.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in analysis and assessment.
- Good skills in working individually and in a team, desire to acquire new knowledge,
- Strong English skills, ability to write reports and publications in English.
- Ability to use EPI Data, STATA, SPSS, NVivo is an advantage.
