Consultant to Improve Content Quality of Current Learning Technology Innovation Skills to Succeed Project

I. Consultant’s responsibilities:

The consultant is responsible for:

Reviewing and revising BecaXR app for:

  • Revision of content of the career exploration component in four workplaces of Hospitality, Mechanics, Sales and Production.
  • Rewrite of dialogue scripts in public speaking and job interviews.

II. Scope and Tasks:

The consultant is expected to perform the following tasks:

  • Work with the project team to develop and agree on a detailed work plan, timeline, deliverables and expectations on quality of the final products.
  • Study and review the materials provided by project team to understand the operation of the BecaXR app, the module design and expected learning outcomes.
  • Work with the project team to finalise the improvement plan for the application, specifically:
    • Revise the content of questions, quizzes, information cards for the 4 modules of the Career Explorer (Hospitality, Mechanics, Sales, Textiles). The content should be on the employability skills needed to succeed in these industries, so consultant is expected to contact related business to get this information.
    • Revise the scripts for 2 interactive modules, Interview and Public Speaking. The consultant should prepare scrips for 2 -3 videos with public speaking and job interviewing scenarios for users to practice. Each video will be around 1 minute, with 2 – 3 actors/actresses discussing job opportunities, participating in meeting with colleagues, and interviewing for a job opening.
  • Coordinate with the project team and app developer to ensure the app content is produced and updated according to the improvement plan mentioned above.
  • After the test-version is released, review the app content for any spelling mistakes, wording errors.
  • Comply with Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy, Data protection and Privacy Policies.

III. Key Deliverables

  • List of spelling mistakes and wording issues in all modules of existing BecaXR app (career exploration module, informal and formal interview module, public speaking module).
  • List of added information, resources for Career Exploration of 4 workplaces in the BecaXR app (at least 1 quiz and 6 – 8 information cards per workplace)
  • Revised scripts of dialogues for Interview and Public speaking component in the BecaXR app.

IV. Main competencies required

The project team is looking for a consultant with expertise and experience in developing lessons with interactive exercises and illustrative animations/scenarios for online learning/learning application.

  • Have adequate experience in lesson/curriculum design and a good understanding of the online learning format as well as learning application on smartphones (interactions, time, and student behaviours, etc.)
  • Well-versed and resourceful with employability skills, soft-skills training materials.
  • Bachelor degree or higher major in pedagogy and/or at least 4 year-teaching/ consulting experience, preferably in the field of life skills/soft skills/employability skills training.
  • Experience developing online courses and lessons for learning application is desirable.
  • Experience working with INGO in a youth employment project is a plus.
