CCWG: Introduction to Methodologies and Results of Climate Vulnerability Assessments Implemented by Civil Society Organizations in the Context of the National Adaptation Plan

To support the government in the NAP process, the Climate Change Working Group (CeWG) - chaired by WWF Vietnam - with the support of the Friedrich-Ebert-stiftung (FES) will organize the International Workshop: Introduction to methodologies and results of climate vulnerability assessment implemented by society organizations in context of National Adaptation Plan on April 23rd, 2019 to present the results of a study on CVAs implemented by CCWG members (commissioned by FES);

The topics and speakers include:

  • The NAP process discussion at the UNFCCC COP24 and how CVAs are conducted according to the technical guidelines for NAPs from the UNFCCC - Mr. Sandeep Chamling Rai - Senior Advisor - Global Climate Adaptation Policy, Practice Expert- Climate Adaptation for WWF International Climate and Energy Practice
  • Update on the current status and the expectations regarding CSO engagement in the NAP process, particularly related to CVA - Representative of the Department of Climate Change (DCC), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE)
  • CVA methodologies and results of CCWG members - Ms. Hoang Thi Ngoc Ha, Representative of the expertteam
  • Recommendations on how can CVAs can be implemented in the NAP process (10 minutes) - Mr. Hoang Viet, Chairman of CCWG
  • CVA experiences in Cambodia and how CSOs engage in the NAP process - Mr. Sey Peou, Representative of Asian Climate Change Consortium (ACCC)
