Education for Nature - Vietnam (ENV) is currently looking for candidates for the position of Education Officer - Based in Hanoi.
Description of position
The Education Officer is responsible for taking a leading role in executing awareness activities and campaigns to raise public awareness and encourage public to take part in wildlife protection; carry out a baseline wildlife trade and consumption surveys in Hanoi and the north of Viet Nam.
The Education Officer reports directly to the direct manager.
Main Responsibilities
The Education Officer is responsible for taking a leading role in operations of ENV’s Wildlife Trade Program tasked with reducing consumption and demand of wildlife amongst consumers and aggressively working to eliminate illegal hunting and trade of wildlife in the north of Vietnam.
- Carry out awareness activities: Work closely with the program manager, other team member as well as other departments within ENV to carry out awareness activities such as university programs, exhibits, campaigns, and school programs, etc... in the Northern region. More details will be addressed during the interview.
- Administer field operations: Meet all administrative requirements of ENV including regular communications and reporting, processing of finances, etc.
- Assist with Wildlife Protection Network: Assist in recruitment and training of volunteers from ENV’s Wildlife Protection Network, involve volunteers in awareness activities, and liaise with the National Wildlife Volunteer Coordinator on all issues relating to volunteer activities.
- Report: Provide written reports on project outcomes and related activities.
- Others: Complete other duties and assignments as specified by ENV managers
Qualifications
- University degree, male preferred
- Excellent presentation & communications skills
- Good verbal and written English
- Strong Vietnamese writing skills
- Good knowledge of commonly traded wildlife identification
- Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Internet
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and pay close attention to details
- Ability to work well in a team
