Project Manager; Communication Officer

WWF Vietnam Country Programme is one country component of the WWF Greater Mekong and is the implementing arm for projects in Vietnam mainly in Central Annamites, Southern Annamites and the Mekong Delta. Our major activities focus on Freshwater, Forestry, Marine and Aquaculture, Agriculture and Agroforestry, Policy and Advocacy.

WWF is launching WWF’s global Wildlife Trade campaign in July 2012. Through the global campaign, WWF aims to ensure governments and international institutions treat illegal wildlife trade as a serious crime, enact effective deterrents, and lead efforts to stop demand for endangered species products. In Vietnam, the campaign aims to secure a head of state public declaration of action to dramatically improve enforcement efforts to crack down on the illegal rhino horn trade, and to reduce demand for rhino horn in Vietnam through a well-researched and scientifically informed campaign

They are currently seeking for an well-qualified and experienced candidates to fill a full-time Hanoi-based following positions:

1. PROJECT MANAGER:

Main responsibilities:

The Project Manager is a full-time position to the project contracted by WWF to lead the development and execution of WWF-Vietnam’s Illegal Wildlife Trade campaign, in conjunction with relevant WWF national, regional and international programmes, offices and campaign partners.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Mater’s degree in conservation, natural resource management, bioregional planning, environmental, or in relevant fields
- Qualification in Project Management
- 5 years proven experience devising, formulating and implementing campaign strategies within a national, international or high-profile organization;
- Knowledge of conservation and natural resource management issues in Vietnam.
- Knowledge of environmental issues and the politics influencing public and private institutions both nationally and internationally to understand how they interact and influence each other, and the public
- Knowledge of the realities of government agencies, development partners, donor institutions, and the not-for-profit sector in the  project
- Knowledge of WWF structure, priorities and procedures as well as WWF's ecoregional approach to conservation
- Knowledge of M&E methodology, quality assurance
- Experience in policy-led campaigns, targeting government officials.
- Proven experience as a successful campaign leader, preferably but not necessarily in the not-for-profit sector
- Proven track record in successful campaigns undertaken in a multi-cultural setting, coupled with the ability to deliver high profile media and campaign activities and products;
- Expertise in campaigning techniques, policies, strategies, target audience analysis, structure and impact;
- Experience in multi-disciplinary teams and in building consensus, optimism and confidence in the face of challenges and pressure
- Experience of working in multi-cultural environment and working with key regional and international institutions
- Experience of working with Government officials, local communities and/or donors at all levels
- People and financial management, coaching and capacity building/development
- Presentation, communications (ability to communicate complex issues in a clear manner to a wide variety of audiences across diverse channels (online, TV, print, radio, etc.), and negotiation
- Planning, organisation, time management, facilitation, and coordination
- Networking skills, and proven capability to work well with government counterparts and private sector.
- Very good skills in use of MS Word, Excel, Power Point
- Fluency in written and spoken English and local language
- Strong Interpersonal and partnership development skills, and the ability to develop relationships with a wide range of audiences;
- Long-term planning and analytical skills, as well as demonstrated ability to multi-task and work effectively to tight deadlines without compromising quality;

2. COMMUNICATION OFFICER:

Main responsibilities:

The Communication Officer is a full-time position to the project contracted by WWF to lead communications for WWF-Vietnam’s Illegal Wildlife Trade campaign, in conjunction with relevant WWF national, regional and international programmes, offices and campaign partners

Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, media, marketing or related subject
- 3 years of practical experience in communications, public relations or corporate relations
- Proven success record in advocacy / change communications
- Experience of working in multi-cultural environment and/or international organisations is preferred
- Experience of working with Government officials, local communities and/or donors at all levels
- Experience in conducting workshops and seminars
- Familiar with environmental and conservation issues in the Vietnam
- Knowledge and understanding of media working processes and methodology
- Familiarity with a wide range of media communication and campaign tools
- Knowledge of the realities of government agencies, development partners, donor institutions, and the not-for-profit sector in the  project
- Strategic thinking & motivation skills, communications (ability to communicate complex issues in a clear manner to a wide variety of audiences across diverse channels (online, TV, print, radio, etc.), and public speaking
- Articulate, creative, passionate, flexible and tenacious
- Attention to detail, diplomacy and discretion
- Networking and teamwork
- Fluency in written and spoken English and local language
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Strong skill of news writing, editing, press release writing, as well as Presentations, communications, and negotiation
- Proficiency in functional soft-wares in graphics and media
