Communications Officer

The East Meets West Foundation (EMW) is “the foundation for learning, healing and health".  Founded in 1988, EMW has a 23-year track record of innovative and effective work in Vietnam and a vast portfolio of completed projects. EMW projects and programs are known for their high quality, long-term sustainability, emphasis on results and significant scale.

They are now seeking a high qualified candidate to take the job of Communications Officer, based in Hanoi Office. The Communications Officer is responsible for the communication, promotion and support in fundraising for a group of EMW’s programs.

TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Duties/Responsibilities:

1.Development of promotional and communications materials:
- Draft the content and designs for related materials including factsheets, brochures, leaflets, banners, posters, video scripts, presentations about the programs
- Liaise with media partners for promotional news, stories and reportages.
- Coordinate photo-shooting, filming and videos post-production for visual documentation such as short movie clips, photo books, etc.
- Act as a liaison with the suppliers (graphic designer, photographers, printing houses,...) to make sure the quality of the services are met.

2. Website management and social marketing for these programs:
- Manage the content update of current programs’ websites
- Support the program manager in online promotional and social marketing activities
- Manage online donations and donor database

3. Event organization:
- Support the program manager in planning and management of national and community-based events to promote and fundraise for these programs.
- Act as a liaison with national and local partners and service providers to ensure their best coordination and service quality

4. Support in fundraising and donor relations management
- Maintain a database of current donors and potential donors for the programs
- Prepare draft quarterly and donor reports for the two new programs
- Logistics arrangements for donors’ visits and media familiarization trip to the programs
- Prepare promotional materials and documents for partners and fundraising meetings

5. Other communications assignments as assigned by supervisor and senior management

Desired qualifications and attributes:
- Bachelor Degree, preferably in Communications/Public Relations, Journalism, Business, Marketing, International Development
- At least 2 years relevant work experience in communications or public relations at international organizations
- Strong practical skills in communications and public relations (event planning and management, promotional and communications materials development)
- Being able to design promotional materials using basic design softwares
- Ability to think strategically, conceptualize new ideas, digest and analyze complex information and present coherent work plan or implementation plan
- Excellent English speaking and writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to liaison with national and local high ranking people
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, including an ability to build relationships
- Possess a professional attitude and diligence, and be able to work independently as well as work in a team
